ABOUT ME

I am Krishna Rajagopal, a senior project manager with over 10 years’ of progressive experience in managing large scale projects.

My experience includes managing offshore transition, operations centralization, platform migration , Java/Web development and infrastructure projects in Banking, Telecom and Insurance industries. I am interested in applying for a suitable senior Project manager / Transition manager / Delivery manager role in India.

Also,I am proficient in managing cross functional team, handling multiple concurrent projects, managing stakeholder expectations and offshore vendor engagements.

In addition, I am a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics and Communications).

Project Manager, Integrated Service Delivery
Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC)| Toronto | Sep 2013 – Sep 2014

Key Projects:                                                       
Offshore Transition of Operations (under NDA) ($4 M, 6 Months): Streamline and Transition selected processes within operations department to an offshore vendor. The scope of this phase was to complete the pre-transition activities.
Retail Banking Operations Centralization (Under NDA) ($2 M, 6 Months): Implement closure of the operations center in a province and transfer all retail banking operations and infrastructure to a centralized location at another province within Canada.      

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a project kick off to communicate the project objectives, governance structure, methodology, set expectations and build project team.
  • Ensure high risk areas are analyzed and design risk response strategies.
  • Conduct material risks assessment at organization level, engage with senior executives to design risk response strategies and execution plans.
  • Manage multiple work streams of the project including technology, communications, training & knowledge management, human resources and vendor management.
  • Negotiate with functional managers for project resources to ensure triple constraint is not impacted.
  • Drive change management work-stream including people change management, scope change requests, impact analysis and executing the response plan with work-stream leads including business and technology. Ensure Enterprise Project Plan and status reports are up to date and presented to the sponsor as required.
  • Conduct Supplier due diligence “inputs gathering” meeting with the sponsors and management stakeholders prior to supplier engagement.
  • Prepare detailed Knowledge capture plan including the certification plan for the offshore resources and gain approval from the vendors, business stakeholders.
  • Create knowledge transfer plan including SME travel plan, volume forecast, metrics, monitoring log, rapid response plan and ensure the knowledge transfer is completed successfully.
  • Monitor Ramp-up activities are carried out as per plan and ensure workarounds are implemented and  establish that offshore resources would be able handle 100% of operational volume before Go-Live date.
  • Develop Implementation log and ensure all activities are delivered.
  • Facilitate Go/No go call and gain approval from sponsors before implementation of each phase.

Bell Mobility | Mississauga | Apr 2010 – Sep 2013

Key Projects:             
OCS Configuration GUI 5.0, 5.2 and 5.3-Web Application ($2 M, 18 Months): Develop a configuration tool for “Online Charging System platform” using offshore vendor.
Prepaid CDMA, HSPA Platform Migration ($2 M, 1 yr): Migrate all customer data and live traffic from prepaid platform to Instant Convergent Charging (ICC) prepaid platform.

Responsibilities:
  • End to end project delivery from requirements, design, development, testing and production implementation.
  • Manage iterative releases involving QA resources, SMEs and offshore developers.
  • Identify and manage risks throughout the project phases for successful delivery.
  • Manage dry runs for platform migration by diverting partial customer traffic to the new platform.
  • Facilitate and gain approval from management team during the “Go /No Go call”.
  • Meet frequently with stakeholders such as business, sponsor and vendors to ensure risk areas are communicated and expectations are aligned.
  • Manage implementation of middle-ware servers and integration of the same with rating platform.

Key Projects:
HSPA Device Launch ($ 2 M, 10 Months): Manage the design, development, testing and implementation of prepaid platform to support HSPA devices.
Web Channel Enhancement ($1 M, 6 Months): Manage dealer "web portal enhancement" with Oracle database support the sales of “High Speed Packet Access”.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage various projects within timelines that are set and imposed externally.
  • Manage certification testing and technical launch of HSPA devices and in a matrix environment.
  • Review change requests and provide recommendations to the sponsors and the steering committee.
  • Resolve conflicting priorities within the project team and influence sponsors to gain alignment when required.
  • Report project progress and present corrective actions to the sponsors to adjust the project variances.
  • Manage and post-implementation incident requests and facilitate resolution within the approved duration.

Key Projects:
Wireless over the air activations ($ 500K, 6 Months): Manage the design, development, testing and implementation of over the air activations of different wireless devices.
Amdocs Ensemble Enhancement releases 1, 2, and 3 ($1M, 18 Months): Manage testing and implementation of new functionalities in the wireless billing software supplied by Amdocs.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop testing and implementation project schedule to align with the pre published release dates for both lab and production environments.
  • Prepare high level cost and resource estimation and infrastructure estimation to build overall project cost.
  • Develop implementation plan, test plan for the release, and present the same at sponsor level touch points.
  • Identify risk and mitigation plans for activities during the weekly status meeting.
  • Develop upstream and downstream impact assessments for changes in the vendor code drop schedule and communicate the same the same to dependent teams.
  • Conduct root cause analysis meetings with the development and testing team to resolve high priority defects.
  • Manage post implementation defect resolution process and facilitate resolution of open issues.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare level1 artifacts such as project management plan, scope management plan, and work breakdown structure.
  • Gain agreement with SMEs and business lead on the scope and obtain approval from the sponsor on final scope statement.
  • Develop schedule baseline, budget and gain approval from sponsors.
